FRAMING/REFRAMING

The process of altering language, metaphors and associations used to describe
issues so as to change perceptions and response, without changing the facts.

How an idea is framed effects how it is judged, understood and reacted to. The
purpose of reframing is to find out what’s really going on by deliberately examining
everything that’s been said and finding new ways of expressing the meaning.

The stages of reframing are:

Identifying the frame

Identifying the bias

Re-expressing the meaning
